Jeered

When the soldiers came back from the Vietnam war, they were jeered and scoffed at. People threw things at them, screamed at them, scorned and shunned them. It was not a matter of pride to be a veteran—it was a badge of shame.

Some of these young men had given their lives so the people who were jeering at them could have peace.

Think before you act.
